A 15 ans elle reçoit son premier appareil photo, déclencheur de sa passion pour l’image. Dans les premiers temps autodidacte, elle apprend à développer, puis se perfectionne à Icart Photo.

Embauchée à l’Opéra de Paris, elle produit pendant trois ans photographies de spectacle et développements. Elle remporte par ailleurs une bourse de la mairie de Paris qui lui permet d’explorer Cuba à vélo et de présenter à son retour une exposition de ses clichés.
Assistant par la suite le photographe Alain Duplantier elle s’oriente vers la photo de mode et entame ses propres séries.

Son travail personnel la met en scène, jouant d’un double statut modèle/photographe, sans que jamais n’apparaisse son visage, cette première identité donnée au regard de l’autre. Son corps, tout comme celui des modèles qui posent pour elle dans sa pratique professionnelle, « devient un objet graphique, une ligne dynamique qui participe aux formes et aux lumières qui l’entourent : un champ, une table… ». Absurdité des postures et corps-objets témoignent d’une vision ironique de l’existence, la photographie étant pour Véronique July « comme l’histoire de mon regard amusé sur la vie ».

Ses autoportraits ont été exposés en 2005 à Florence.

At the age of 15 she received her first camera, setting of her passion for images. At first self-taught, she later developed her skills with Icart Photo.

Hired by Opéra de Paris, for three years she documented productions and daily life at the opera. She received a grant from the Paris town council to explore Cuba on bicycle, her photos of which were later exhibited.
Following from this she became the assistant of photographer Alain Duplantier, moved towards fashion photography and began to shoot her own series.

In her personal work she appears as herself, becoming both model and photogapher, without ever showing her face, the first identity being presented to the regard of the second.  Her body, as the bodies of the models who pose for her 'becomes a graphic object, a dynamic line which participates actively with the forms and shades of light which surround it:  [such as] a field or a table.' The absurd nature of the compositions of body and object show an ironic vision of our existence, photography being, for Véronique July, 'like the story of my amused outlook on life.'  

Her self portraits were on exhibition in 2005 in Florence.
