Frederik first discovered a pocket camera in the cupboard of his parents’ home, and a passion for image, painting, and design grew from there. After studying photography in Belgium he discovered a connection with architecture–their composition, balance and abstraction. His minimalist, yet graphic, approach complemented his subject matter, and soon his work was featured in many renowned magazines. After moving to Antwerp, his foundation in architectural photography allowed him to shift focus towards interiors, still life, and portraiture. While his subject matter evolved, he continued pulling inspiration from other photographers and painters, incorporating both practices to inform his own approach to form, light and colour.
