Born and raised in Paris, Jean Michel Clerc studied French literature at La Sorbonne during five years before starting an internship at a renowned womenswear magazine. Clerc later decided to become a stylist and soon started assisting at Numéro Homme where he still works today as fashion director.

He also freelance for magazines such as Hero, Doingbird, Le Monde, Vanity Fair US, Uomo Vogue and Le Figaro. Advertising clients include Berluti, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Nike, Nars Cosmetics, Philipp Plein, Biotherm, Fendi and Lacoste.
